Qualifications

With over three decades of experience in life insurance and technology, I’ve spent my career at the crossroads of innovation, risk, and leadership. Whether working on enterprise-scale transformation or mentoring up-and-coming leaders, I’ve always been drawn to challenges where thoughtful strategy meets practical execution.

Executive Experience

Most recently, I served as the Global Head of Agile Transformation, helping lead the company-wide adoption of Agile practices designed to increase the pace of delivery, improve quality and enhance teams’ ability to focus on high-value work.

Prior to that, I was Senior Vice President of Underwriting Innovation at SCOR Global Life Americas, where I led efforts to modernize how underwriting, data science, and technology work together. Managing a $20M+ budget, I built high-performing teams and helped deploy AI-driven models that now help evaluate hundreds of thousands of life insurance applications every year. These efforts not only improved placement rates and reduced acquisition costs but also changed how people within the organization collaborate across silos.

Technology & Transformation

Earlier in my career, I started out as a software engineer and architect, so I’ve always viewed technology not just as a set of tools, but as a language that needs to serve real business goals. At SCOR, I helped lead the modernization of Velogica®, a flagship automated underwriting platform. That initiative included cloud migration, smarter data integration, and better onboarding experiences for clients, all of which drove measurable business value and industry recognition.

Governance & Risk Oversight

Over the years, I’ve worked closely with legal, compliance, and executive teams to tackle complex issues like data governance, AI risk, underwriting bias and model fairness. I understand how these topics show up not just in theory, but in day-to-day operations. This gives me a grounded perspective in discussions where both innovation and risk management need to be balanced.

Leadership Philosophy

I believe in practical, human-centered leadership – the kind that builds trust, creates alignment, and leaves room for people to grow. I’ve always tried to lead by example, give clear and constructive feedback, and create space for others to step up. My teams have consistently delivered strong results not just because they’re talented, but because they’re aligned to a clear goal and empowered to pursue that goal.

What I Bring to the Table

Whether supporting an established carrier through digital transformation or advising an InsurTech on scaling governance, I aim to bring real value. I’ve seen what works (and what doesn’t) when strategy meets execution. I’m comfortable in the weeds, but I never lose sight of the bigger picture.

If you’re looking for a consultant, board member, executive advisor or coach who understands both the technical and human sides of change, I’d be glad to connect.
